WHY USE A TRELLIS IN THE GARDEN?
A trellis is a great way to grow more things in your garden. It allows you to grow vine plants vertically in return creates more ground space for raised beds. Speaking of raised beds, you can also have a trellis in your raised bed, they are a great way to create more ground space as mentioned above. Trellises are a great way to add shade to a sunny area, most of your plants require a shaded area in order to grow properly.
WHAT TO GROW ON A TRELLIS
Adding a trellis to your garden allows you to not only create more floor space for root crops but it also adds shade to the area. Plants that grow best on a trellis are: peas, beans, luffas, cucumber, butternut squash, melons (build a hammock so they don't fall and burst open when ripe) and other vine crops.
